Infinity‐Pacific is seeking a positive and self‐motivated individual to join our Interior and Northern leadership team of Forest Professionals. This position would suit an applicant with previous experience in the resource sector looking to take the next step in their forestry career. With offices based in Abbotsford and Oliver and given the extensive geographic working area, we will entertain flexibility on living location and/or working remotely for the right candidate. The Role

  • Working directly with the Southern Interior Manager to ensure the success of our organizations Northern business lines
  • Providing inspired leadership to the field teams, including scheduling, training, project coordination and quality management
  • Working with IPSG’s team to ensure timely, consistent and quality product delivery, both field and office
  • Managing project budgets and timelines with mindfulness of continuous improvement
  • Engagement with clients, including government officials, first nation leadership, fiber supply mill managers, private land owners, community forest board members, woodlot owners, harvesting and road building contractors
  • Working with the HR department to ensure all safety and regulatory documents are completed and filed as necessary
  • Ensuring familiarity with applicable legislation, SOPs and guidelines
  • Identifying and addressing problems and opportunities for the company
  • Supporting employee communication and promoting company culture that encourages top performance and high morale

Qualifications and Requirements

Ideally, the successful applicant is registered, or eligible for registration, with the ABCFP as an RFT or TFT. This person should have excellent communication skills, enjoy leading by example and have the ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, clients and employees. Preference will be given to those with prior experience in management operations and leadership. Experience with software applications such as RoadEng, ArcGIS, ECAS, CENGEA, Phoenix, Lidar is an asset.

This position has a flexible field/office work balance. Travel and out of town work will be dependent on where the applicant resides.

Forest Professional - Abbotsford

Forest Professional

As one of BC’s most integrated Forest Management companies, Infinity-Pacific Stewardship Group (IPSG) offers an impressive array of opportunities. We currently have a position available for a “Forest Professional” in our coastal division based out of Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Responsibilities

  • Working with a team of Registered Professional Foresters (RPFs) at IPSG within various aspects of forestry
  • Developing site plans in the field and in the office, including reviewing professional reports, assessments and constraints for proposed development areas
  • Writing silviculture prescriptions
  • Reviewing, understanding and implementing plans consistent with BC Forestry Legislation, Regulations and Policy & Practices, guidelines, best management practices, higher level plans, etc.
  • Managing projects to ensure budget and deliverable targets are achieved
  • Developing landscape-level management plans and strategies for small tenure holders, including forest stewardship plans, total resource plans and retention strategies
  • Implementing and supervising silviculture activities, including planting and brushing
  • Assisting area managers and lead engineers in the field with cutblock layout and design

Requirements

  • Member of the ABCFP as an RPF, RFT, FIT or TFT
  • 3 years of experience in developing site plans, writing silviculture prescriptions, managing forestry-related projects and/or supervising silvicultural activities
  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • Experience working in the field in all weather conditions
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Technical report writing and editing skills
  • Safety conscious
  • Willingness to travel for work

Assets

  • Experience in coastal cutblock and road layout and design
  • Experience with RESOURCES (Cengea) data system entry
  • Experience with silviculture surveying and / or timber cruising
  • Familiar with BC Forestry Legislation, Regulations and Policy & Practices
  • Experience with ecosystem identification and classification as per BC’s Biogeoclimatic Ecosystem Classification system
  • Experience in developing and writing landscape-level plans, including writing rationales for the recommendations

Assistant Field Engineer - Abbotsford

Assistant Field Engineer / Abbotsford

Infinity‐Pacific is seeking a positive and self‐motivated individual to join our Coastal Team of Forest Professionals working throughout the Fraser valley. This position would suit an applicant with previous experience in the resource sector looking to grow their forestry career. If you’re looking for a change and a great lifestyle opportunity, this role is for you!

The Role

  • Working directly with one of our Coastal Lead Engineers for mentorship and knowledge growth, your role will allow for hands on experience in operations, development and harvesting.
  • Duties will include block layout, GPS traversing, boundary painting, road location, stream and riparian assessments and collection of recce data.
  • You will be part of the team who takes pride in ensuring timely, consistent and quality product delivery, both for the field and office.
  • You are a safety conscious individual and problem solver with the ability to act independently when faced with an obstacle or change.
  • Work locations are focused in the Fraser Valley but will require camp work on occasion.
  • Qualifications and Requirements

    The successful will possess a valid Class 5 Drivers Licence and have a love for the outdoors and an ability to perform physically demanding work in changing weather conditions. They will be a self starter and keen to learn new things and ask questions.

    This position is field based with an increase in office time as skills progress.

Lead Timber Cruiser

Infinity‐Pacific is seeking a positive and self‐motivated individual to join our Cruising Team for projects on the Coast, Interior and Northern BC. If you have a passing for cruising, are enthusiastic, hard working and strive for a strong work ethic then this role is for you. Based out of our Abbotsford office, our work is focused around the Fraser Valley, Sea to Sky Corridor with additional work in the Interior and Terrace on an as needed basis.

The Role

  • Proficiency with loss factor and CGNF cruising
  • Providing inspired leadership to new cruisers
  • A solid understanding of the MFLNROD Cruising and Appraisal Manuals
  • Managing project budgets and timelines with mindfulness of continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with CruiseMate and related timber cruising tools
  • Preparation of cruise plans
  • Data collection and entry of relevant information relating to recce projects
  • Qualifications and Requirements

  • Eligibility with the ABCFP as a ATC, ATE, RFT or RPF is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years Coastal Timber Cruising experience at a lead level
  • The ability to thrive in a team-based environment
  • A strong love for the outdoors
